Privacy Policy for PulseTab HIIT

Thank you for using PulseTab HIIT. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our interval timer application. Your privacy is important to us, and PulseTab HIIT is built with a local-first, privacy-respecting approach.

1. Information We Collect

PulseTab HIIT is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not collect or transmit personal data from the core app functionality.

• All workout templates, session history, and preferences are stored locally on your device only.
• We do not have access to your workout data or personal content.
• No account or sign-in is required to use the app.

2. Local Data Storage

PulseTab HIIT stores all data securely on your device:

• Workout templates & session history — stored in a local SQLite database on your device (via Drift).
• Settings & preferences — stored locally using lightweight on-device storage (Hive).
• Active session recovery snapshots — stored locally so the app can resume a workout if interrupted.

Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export and share it yourself. Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data.

3. Export & Import (Backup)

PulseTab HIIT allows you to export your workout data as a .json file and import it back. This feature uses your device's native share sheet and file picker. Any sharing or storage of exported files is governed by the apps or services you choose to share them with, not by us.

4. Advertisements

PulseTab HIIT may display ads through Google AdMob. As part of ad delivery, Google may collect:

• Device information (model, OS version)
• Advertising ID
• IP address
• Basic app usage data

This data is used by Google to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. We do not control this data collection. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy:

You can opt out of personalized advertising on your device by adjusting your Android settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads.

5. Permissions

The app may request the following device permissions:

• Notifications → to alert you at the start or end of a workout interval
• Foreground Service / Wake Lock → to keep the timer running accurately when the screen is off
• Audio → to play interval cues and text-to-speech countdowns
• Vibration → to deliver haptic cues during intervals
• Storage / Files → only when you use the export or import feature

The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or any other sensitive data beyond the permissions listed above.

6. Health Connect (Android)

PulseTab HIIT includes a scaffold for optional Android Health Connect integration. If and when this feature is enabled, you will be asked to explicitly grant permission before any health data is read or written. No health data is accessed without your consent. Health data, if used, would remain on your device within the Health Connect platform.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties, except as described in the Advertisements section above (Google AdMob), which operates under its own privacy policy.

8. Security

Since all workout data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data depends on your device's own security features (lock screen, encryption). We recommend keeping your device protected with a PIN or biometric lock.

9. Children's Privacy

PulseTab HIIT is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
